Seven Steps To Network Marketing Success
As a full time Network Marketer, I often get the question; “Dave, how did you do it”. To that I say years and years of practice. To be very honest with you, reaching true Network Marketing success takes thousands of hours of hard work, dedication and smart thinking.
I spent most of my first year as a Networker trying to market my company via supermarkets. I would put on my most expensive suit (which was only about $150) and I’d walk around wall market handing out business cards…
I’d usually spend half my time thinking of slogans I could start conversions with. I usually led with corny catchphrases like “need to earn extra cash or want money”. Back then I knew very little about psychology and stuff like copywriting – so I really failed at the “direct” approach. Little did I know at the time, I was about to come a freaking Network Marketing maverick who could recruit ANYONE at the push of a button. So I put together seven steps that just about anyone can use to see real Network Marketing success:
1. Make A Plan
Before you do anything, you need to form an actual plan. Most people dive into the Network Marketing industry without a plan and it’s one of the main reasons why so many people fail. They join a company, think they only have to recruit like 2 people to get rich and when it comes down to it – they don’t have a clue.
You need to make a plan. A plan about how you’re going to build your business, when you’re going to build it and what money you have for it. It’s also crucial that you set yourself goals! Most importantly, you need to plan your exact marketing strategy.
2. Mindset – Remove Limiting Beliefs
Most people getting started in the industry have such limiting beliefs. The truth is that it’s not that difficult if you believe in yourself. Why can’t you recruit just 1 person a week? With a good marketing strategy and enough traffic 1 person a week is nothing! And… that’s enough people to make a very decent living. My point is you need to remove any limiting beliefs you may have.
The main limiting belief most people have is about money and how difficult it is to create. If you think $5000 or $10,000/month is ridiculous and you’d never be able to make that – you probably won’t. To be a huge success, you must believe that you truly deserve to make that much money. You need to be positive and work towards your goals one step at a time.
3. Warm Market
Once you’ve cleared yourself of limiting beliefs, got in the right mindset and made a plan; you can begin. Back a few years ago I had no clue about online marketing and whenever I’d get started in a new opportunity – my sponsor would tell me to go learn article marketing, video marketing, blogging, SEO and more crazy stuff that made no sense to me. You should NEVER try market your opportunity online in the beginning.
So many Networkers get overwhelmed by online marketing and end up quitting. It also takes months to see any real results from online marketing, so if you want fast results it’s not the way to go. Instead you should start offline by approaching your warm market. I know most people hate approaching their warm market or even mentioning the word Network Marketing to them.
BUT – it’s the fasted way to start seeing results. If you’d like to make money the first week in your Network Marketing business, you absolutely must go the warm market route. It’s simple. In order to recruit someone, you must first gain their trust. That’s the reason why you can’t just pitch random people on the street and expect them to join you… And that’s the reason why you should start with the people who already know, like and trust you.
You won’t have to sell them on you and because they’re getting a recommendation from someone they trust – they are 20 times more likely to join than some random guy you met a week ago. Once you’ve gone through your warm market, you should do some offline marketing. You can attend Networking events, seminars or even place drop-cards in local cafes. The point is first you must approach your warm market and then you must market OFFLINE. Don’t be thrown off by the word warm market.
It doesn’t just have to be your friends and family. Your warm market can be old friends, friends of friends, family, acquaintances and even people on your email list.
