Journaling and the Importance of Focusing on Beauty in Your Life Now and in the Past

This is probably going to be a short blog post, because I need to eat here in about 15 minutes
.
(I love food)
I had an interesting experience today, where I didn’t think there were positives around a couple of years in my life when things used to be a struggle.
All I remembered from that time was negative.
So I pulled out a blank document on my computer, and I asked my unconscious mind to start giving me beautiful memories from that time—things that I had experienced that were magical, amazing, artful, powerful, important, learnings I had had, and joy I had walked in.
I spent the next 90 minutes in a trance, remembering beautiful sunsets, crystal clear, blue oceans, being chased by endangered turtles, seeing skies so crystal clear, that I would stare up into heaven, knowing that the universe never ends—that glory, beauty, power, majesty, and the art of life continue forever, through all time.
I remembered dreams I never had, people I didn’t remember, waterfalls that I had forgotten, picking fruit in jungles that were so beautiful, that I had to stop my inner talk, and pay attention to the wonder.
Then I remembered, yet again…
…that every moment in life is magical.
I appreciate you—remember the journey, the beauty, the joy in the struggle—every moment is a gift that you can walk in Joy—and why focus on anything but that?
Leave me your thoughts in the comments.
I appreciate you,
David Wood
P.S. I literally had so many images, memories, beautiful things, dreams, and victories pop into my mind, that I spent 90 minutes writing them all, and couldn’t get them down, before I realized that I still wanted to blog today, and only had the last 5 minutes to write this down, and tell you I love you. Thank you for reading. You’re awesome.

Thanks, Dave. I had not thought of journaling from the past. What a great tool. I suppose you have done a blog on how you get into these great trances you do when you get such great info from your subconscious. I’d love to know how you do that. I’ve tried meditation but I always either get drown by the chatter in my head or fall asleep. Thanks for the help. You’re badass.

That’s awesome Dave. I’m going to try that right now.

It’s true, we all must realize the beauty that surrounds us every day.

Love your spirit Dave! You have really inspired me to take time out of my hectic day and remember the good, the beauty, the joy that is everywhere. We all need to open our eyes and our minds more to our thoughts and our memories. Yes, life is magical and we need to see it, feel it, and believe it!

Sorry, start again. Dave, I NEED your HELP. I’m an Australian living & volunteering in Cambodia. I want to join Empower Network. I need to find a way to support myself over here. But your company will not allow me to pay with my Aussie debit card outside of Australia. Boo hoo! What to do? PLEASE any suggestions.

Dave you always write super good stuff!

Thank you, David, I love the way you put it all. I had to do the same thing; I used to see negativity constantly. And one day I decided to focus on only the good moments in my life. Whether they were all real or not, I couldn’t say. And the beauty is I don’t even care. I learned that happiness is something that comes from within, and that we have to do whatever we can to find it… Even if that means making up our past in order to be grateful for life. Thanks again, Empower has changed my life forever. And it’s funny it all started with a long-haired hippy Jedi sitting in a boat… Thanks to you, D. Sharpe, and Justin… You’ve got a die-hard soldier for freedom here!

Great post Dave. It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday living that we don’t stop and think about all the wonderful things that happened to us that we can be grateful for. I need to start journaling.

This post really resonated with me, Dave. It’s so easy to get caught up in the daily grind and forget about the beauty all around us. Your experience reminded me to take a step back and appreciate the little things. Thank you for this beautiful reminder. Keep inspiring us!

I’m a bit skeptical about this. It sounds too good to be true that just by journaling you can shift your focus from negativity to positivity so easily. Do you have any scientific evidence or research to back this up?

This is such a thought-provoking post. How often do you journal, and do you have any tips for beginners who want to start focusing more on the positive aspects of their lives? I’m eager to hear your advice on this!

While I appreciate the sentiment, I found this post a bit too idealistic. Not everyone can easily shift their focus to the positive, especially when dealing with serious life issues. I’d love to see a more balanced perspective in future posts.

Hey Dave! Long time no see. I hope you’re doing well. This post brought back memories of our discussions about positivity and mindset. We should catch up soon. Let me know when you’re free to meet up!

I had a similar experience when I started journaling. At first, it felt strange, but as I kept at it, I began to notice the small beauties in my life that I had overlooked. It’s amazing how a simple practice can bring about such a profound change.

For anyone interested in this topic, there’s a great tool called “Day One Journal” that makes it easy to start and maintain a journaling habit. It’s available on multiple platforms and has really helped me stay consistent with my journaling practice.

This post made me reflect on my own life and the things I’ve been overlooking. It’s easy to get bogged down in the negative, but as you said, every moment is a gift. Thank you for sharing your insights, Dave. I’ve learned so much from this.
