Attract More Blog Traffic Now

Although I talk about this often, I don’t talk about it nearly enough. Attracting more blog traffic is easy, and there are literally hundreds of ways to do it. Over the course of this article I’m going to reveal just 6 different ways to attract more blog traffic now.

1. Create A Blog Content Schedule

This is really the first thing you should do when starting a blog. In fact, it’s the first thing you should do before starting a blog. You should establish a content schedule.

A content schedule should be a strict content publishing schedule i.e., you publish a new blog post every 4 days. It’s crucial to be consistent with your publishing. Your readers should know when to expect new content. Randomness doesn’t always work. After a month or two of sticking to a schedule, readers will begin to check your blog automatically on the days they know you publish.

It’s also important to have a variety of blog content in your schedule i.e., posts, videos, interviews, and podcasts.

2. Focus On A Specific Topic

I know it’s tempting to go crazy and blog about everything. I used to do it myself. I started a blog in a tiny niche, and as soon as I ran out of keywords to target, I looked outside the niche. In the end, I ended up with some confused readers who didn’t really know what my blog was about.

Stick to your topic, write about it and nothing else. Become the go-to blog for information on the topic. Even if you’ve covered everything and run out of keywords, keep publishing about the same stuff as well as news (there is always new news); just make each individual post unique in some little way.

3. Interview People

Interviews work extremely well for attracting new blog visitors. They give readers an insight into other people’s lives like nothing else. No matter what niche you’re in, you can always find people to interview.

All you need to do is find someone who is doing something interesting and successful. It could be someone who’s built a 50,000 subscriber blog in 2 years, someone who kicks ass at golf, someone who has traveled the world, or someone who is making obscene amounts of money from a weird marketing strategy.

The idea is to ask them about their lives, ensure your readers warm to them, and then get the interviewee to teach your readers about whatever it is they’re doing successfully.

4. Create An Unmissable Show

If you do, you’ll create an unstoppable army of loyal followers. Very few bloggers have done this successfully. But the ones that have are dominating.

Creating an unmissable show means literally creating a TV/video show and posting it exclusively on your blog. The show could be you talking with a friend in the same business, you interviewing successful people in your niche, or maybe even reviewing products.

The trick is to make your show seem like an actual television show. Create an introduction and film it with an HD video camera. For you to create a show with someone else, you need to be sitting in the same room together. Someone who’s created a show quite successfully is Tim Ferris with his Random Show.

That’s just one style of show; you can do virtually anything. As long as you create something that’s entertaining, humorous, and educational and produce it in a professional manner, you’ll create the most loyal following imaginable.

5. Don’t Just Find Readers In Your Own Niche

This is critical because sometime in the future, you’re going to have tapped out your niche. Meaning you’re going to get to the point where you’ve guest posted and commented on every single blog possible. You’re also eventually going to tap out the social networks, forums, and other sites in your niche.

When that happens, you can expand into a variety of different niches. For example, small business and financial site readers may well want to learn about Internet Marketing. So you could guest blog on them, therefore attracting subscribers from outside your specific niche. It’s important to keep the content on your blog about a specific topic, but it’s ok to branch out when seeking new readers.

6. Go Viral

Obviously, one of the best and fastest ways to attract more blog traffic is to go viral. Going viral simply means one of your blog posts or home page being shared so many times on social media sites that it reaches an exponential tipping point where everyone sees your post or page, talks about it, and shares it, creating a gigantic influx of visitors.

When your content gets so many shares on a site, it usually gets featured on the home page making it go viral. The best way to get a piece of content to go viral is to create something outrageously funny, interesting, or epic. Funny content usually goes viral the easiest, for obvious reasons.

Of course, you need to encourage visitors to share your “hopefully soon-to-be viral” content. It’s also a good idea to give your content a head start by sharing it on your personal accounts and even paying for social signals.

In Prosperity,

David Wood

All good info Dave – I’m going to follow it – I really like the idea about interviewing people – can also add some clout to your reputation — for instance, I had a customer come in and he actually drove MISS BUDWISER to many off-shore championships – how powerful would it be to do a blog post interview with someone with authority as well…

You state above, #1, second paragraph, post a blog every 4 days. Yet in EN you say to blog daily. What would your answer be for the difference?
