The Facebook Registration Plugin – Like List Building On Steroids!

Facebook Registration PluginOk, so there has been a lot of hoohar (yep, I said hoohar) about the new Facebook registration plugin. Now this thing is really cool and damn right powerful. A lot of you will have no idea what this plugin is or how to use it. So let me give you the definition right from the Facebook page itself. Why? Well I hate to say it but, I am feeling lazy and who is better to explain than Facebook themselves. (Don’t worry, I will explain in my own words after)

The Registration plugin allows users to easily sign up for your website with their Facebook account. The plugin is a simple iframe that you can drop into your page. When logged into Facebook, users see a form that is pre-filled with their Facebook information where appropriate.

The registration plugin gives you the flexibility to ask for additional information which is not available through the Facebook API (e.g. favorite movie). The plugin also allows users who do not have a Facebook account, or do not wish to sign up for your site using Facebook to use the same form as those who are connecting with Facebook. This eliminates the need to provide two separate login experiences.

Still have no idea what this thing does? Don’t worry, Facebook seem to have their own language LOL. So let me explain… Basically, this little plugin will allow you to build an email list and boost conversions big time. It can actually be used in a couple of ways, but for most of my audience here, they’ll want to use it for list building.

What this plugin does is allow people to sign up/fill in forms using their Facebook accounts. I wish I had a cool image to show you what im talking about here, but I don’t. (Sorry people) Anyways, think about it like this. The Facebook registration plugin automatically fills out forms for your visitors who are logged into their Facebook accounts.

The plugin uses Facebook data to pre fill online forms like opt in forms, surveys and so on. Just like at the top right of this page, you can see where it says enter your email and ‘get instant access’. If I were to use the Facebook registration plugin and you happened to be logged into Facebook at this very moment, the form would already be filled in. :)

See where I’m going with this? MASSIVE CONVERSION BOOSTS!

Ok, for those of you who’ve been living under a rock for the last ten years, let me explain further. The aim of the Internet Marketing game is to build an email list. From there you can pitch your subscribers, feed them content and ultimately sell stuff. Now building an email list has always been tough.

The masters of list building who have lists in the hundreds of thousands… they really have money on demand. One email goes out to a list of say 100,000 people interested in a product they have, and BOOM, tons of money in their pockets. Ok, I think you get the picture. Email lists are huge, blah blah blah, you understand. LOL

So, boosting opt in conversion rates is huge. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of courses out there that teach people how to boost opt in rates. It’s a huge thing in the Internet Marketing world and of all people, Facebook have launched an amazing plugin for boosting opt in rates.

Think about it… If you’re on some dude’s landing page and you like his stuff. You’re about to opt in but, uh oh his opt in form asks for all kinds of boring stuff. First name, last name, email address, date or birth, social security number… (just kidding) LOL

Anyway, if the opt in form is really long, wouldn’t you be more likely to opt in if the form was already filled? Yep, that’s what Facebook’s registration plugin does. And… let’s face it, Facebook is taking over the world.

Everyone is ALWAYS logged into their Facebook accounts and there are over 600 million users. This means that the majority of your visitors are probably logged into Facebook while browsing your site. I honestly hope this makes sense to you, as it’s crystal clear to me.

So… your visitors are far more likely to opt in to your email list if the form is already filled out for them. Cool right? I have no idea why, but I am really excited about this. All I can say is that this plugin is going to be huge. Right now like no one is using it.

Probably because of Facebook’s terrible explanation of what it actually does. Anyways, that’s what it is, that’s what it does and you should be able to see how it can dramatically increase your opt in rates. Resulting in a pretty damn huge increase in customers too! Cool stuff I think.

In Prosperity,
David Wood

P.S. Please comment, share your thoughts, tweet, and share this with Facebook friends. It’s cool and ground breaking stuff. I mean, im sure an Internet Marketer could have sold this plugin for a fortune. Don’t you just love Facebook?

Hi David, Another cool plugin. Make it as easy as possible for your subscribers to sign up, by doing the work for them....save for clicking the "Send Me My Stuff" button. Thanks for sharing! Ryan
