The Rich Beach Bum

This is a story of a guy who failed…..a lot. He failed his way through high school, he failed to finish college, he failed at his first attempts at business, and working a regular 9-5 job wasn’t his strong suit either. So what does a guy do that doesn’t fit the normal pattern of getting good grades in school, going to college, and working hard at a job to get promoted in the company? This particular person decided to become a……..wait for it……..NETWORK MARKETER!!!! AAAAAAAAH! The dreaded networker, here to push his pyramid scheme on me! Well, here’s the kicker folks, he failed at that, too. I shouldn’t say he failed, but he didn’t do very well at it.

The man I’m talking about is David Wood, the rich beach bum. After David had a small success in network marketing, he decided he didn’t want to be a slave to his business. He was putting in massive amounts of time and doing a lot of extra work just to maintain his business. He could have maintained his down-line and kept recruiting people in shopping malls (and getting kicked out for soliciting) but that’s not what he wanted, so he quit network marketing and moved to Hawaii. Now, you might be thinking “well moving to Hawaii isn’t so bad” but for David the location change didn’t help much.

While living in Hawaii, David and his wife got to the point where they were living out of their ’96 Dodge Caravan. David tells stories of how he could hear drug deals happen right outside of his van, and how one time someone threw a coconut at it. They constantly had to move from place to place because it’s illegal to sleep in your van in the parking lots (or whatever). In fact, he got a ticket for sleeping in his van and had to use the last bit of his money to pay for it.

So there he was broke, living in a van, taking showers at his friends’ houses, and no job. At this point most people would be looking for a regular job, getting an apartment, saving up their money and eventually retiring, but not David. What does he do? He borrows some money from his mom. You see, David is an entrepreneur and he has a vision, and by now you should know that when someone has a true entrepreneurial spirit, they have to push to the next level no matter what. They have to follow their dreams, so David did just that and used the money he borrowed from his mom to start finding leads online. From that day forward, David took massive action and built an online empire. He is now one of the top producers in his network marketing company and is the top producer for the number one lead generation system on the internet.

He now works from his beautiful home in the mountains of Costa Rica. If he can do this business from his home in the middle of nowhere in a foreign country, anyone can! David has streamlined everything so he only works on what he wants and when he wants. He can focus all his energy on helping his team and outsources things he doesn’t specialize in, and things he simply doesn’t want to do such as, prospecting, calling leads, graphic design, and doing tech stuff.

Editor notes: Costa Rica is not the middle of nowhere, it’s the middle of treasureland!

In prosperity,

Eric & Lauren Kalberer

This post really resonated with me! It’s amazing to see how David Wood turned his failures into success. His journey is a true inspiration for anyone who’s struggling in life right now. Thanks for sharing such an empowering story, Eric!

Are these results even real? It sounds almost too good to be true that someone could go from living in a van to building an empire. Do you have any proof or more details that could back up these claims? I’d love to see some actual evidence or testimonials.

This is a great story, but I have a couple of questions. How exactly did David Wood start generating leads online? And what kind of marketing strategies did he use to turn things around? I’d love to know more about the steps he took!

While I appreciate the story, it feels a bit unrealistic to suggest that anyone can just go from zero to success by following David’s path. There’s more to business than just taking massive action. It would’ve been better if the post addressed the specific challenges and strategies needed in today’s market.

Hey Eric, it’s been a while since we last talked! I just came across your post and wanted to say hi. This story about David Wood is really fascinating. How have you been? We should definitely catch up sometime soon, maybe grab a coffee!

This reminds me of when I was struggling to get my first business off the ground. I didn’t exactly live in a van, but I definitely had my share of hardships. Reading about how David pushed through his challenges really motivates me to keep going with my own projects.

I’ve actually been using a similar system for lead generation called LeadPages. It helps with building landing pages quickly and collecting leads automatically. I’d recommend checking it out if you’re looking for alternatives to what David used.
