Article Marketing

Over the past few days I’ve been writing a lot about article marketing. In fact, I put together a 5 post “mini-series” on article marketing. So I wanted to put together a little resource page for my mini-series and give you some basic information about how you can use article marketing in your business.
First, what the heck is article marketing?
Effectively, article marketing is writing and submitting articles to article directories. And article directories are just directories of articles… as the name suggests.
Since the evolution of Internet Marketers, people have been using article marketing to promote their websites and products. For a good reason too; article marketing works.
It’s one of the only Internet marketing strategies that has stood the test of time. Many of my readers, subscribers, and customers all tell me the same thing: they’ve been using a marketing strategy for a while and all of a sudden it stopped working and they’re flat on their asses.
It’s the same story every time. They chase some stupid dream of push button traffic or lead generation. There are an endless supply of fads in the Internet Marketing niche.
One jackass stumbles upon a loophole he’s able to use to generate dirt cheap traffic and leads. For some reason, he decides to tell the world about it and get rich in the process via selling his own info product.
12 Weeks Later…
Five thousand people have started using the loophole, the loophole gets closed because of this and everyone is back to square one.
That’s why I tell everyone to stick with what works and more importantly; what has stood the test of time. Article Marketing is probably the only strategy that is completely free, has stood the test of time and that a buffoon could use. So here are the links to my Article Marketing series:
In this post, I talk about the very history of article marketing. I go over the basics, what article marketing is, what it can do for you and just give a thorough explanation.
This post is sort of a part one to the first post. It got a little long and people generally don’t like reading 2000 word blog posts; so I thought I’d write a part two.
In this post, I briefly talk about the two article marketing strategies that work today in 2012. Article Marketing isn’t a single strategy, there are lots of ways of doing it and therefore many article marketing strategies. Many experience bubbles; where a brand new easier and more effective strategy appears.
But it only works when it flows under the radar. When thousands of people start using it, the bubble grows until it soon pops. It pops when master Google for example finds out how a load of marketers are exploiting a loophole and decide to close it. If that makes sense? In the post I explain in detail the first strategy.
In this post, I just go over some tips, it’s effectively a follow-up post to the first strategy + more general tips.
Lastly, I thoroughly explain the mass article marketing strategy. A simple strategy you can use to get fast results with article marketing, but be careful because this strategy has risks!
By the time you go through all of these posts you will have obtained a greater understanding of article marketing than 99% of marketers. Use the information wisely.
In Prosperity,
David Wood

David… Great article. I agree with you, stick to the basics with article marketing. One thing that Google will never close the “loophole” on is quality original articles (not spun). Doug Williams

Thanks for the detailed breakdown on article marketing, David. It’s refreshing to see a strategy that’s stood the test of time. Do you have any tips on getting started for beginners?

Interesting series, David. I’ve always been skeptical about article marketing, but your posts have given me a new perspective. Keep up the good work!
