6 Ways To Sell Anything To Your Email List – Part One

Even if you’re a kick ass list builder who can build email lists in the tens of thousands, it doesn’t matter unless you can properly monetize every subscriber. I know guys who are traffic generating machines but don’t have a hope in hell at selling anything. Selling is an art that can only be mastered over time; there are different ways of selling things, some better than others.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve tried and tested almost every list monetization strategy out there. I could always generate traffic and convert traffic into subscribers, but I wasn’t always great at selling. What kind of stuff do I usually sell to my list?

Well, usually I run promotions that last anywhere between 3 days to 2 weeks. Each promotion will be dedicated to selling a product or service of some kind. Anyway, I’ve learned how to sell and pretty much mastered it, so here are 6 ways to sell just about anything to your subscribers:

Direct Email:

First of all is direct email. Sending out a promotional email directly to your subscriber’s inboxes. This strategy works, but I wouldn’t use it too often. If I use the “direct email” strategy, then it’ll only be a one-time email promotion. A sort of recommendation for my list to check something out. 99% of marketers out there use solely direct email, and they send lots of them.

If a new product comes out that they’d like to promote, they’ll send half a dozen emails promoting it over the span of 2 weeks. While that’s somewhat effective, most of your subscribers will get pissed off when they keep receiving promo emails from you. The key to selling is interaction!

Blog Posts:

Next is the good old blog post strategy. As I mentioned, the key to selling and connecting with your subscribers is interaction. You basically have to allow them to interact with you. Instead of just sending your subscribers to some sales page, you can send your subscribers to a blog post.

Obviously, you’ll need an actual blog to do this. If you don’t have one, don’t worry as they’re dirt cheap to create and are one of the best assets you could possibly build for your business. All you have to do is blog about the product or service you want to sell.

Let’s say you want to sell some Article Marketing software for $300. You could write a blog post about traffic generation and how article marketing is one of the best ways to drive traffic. You could then talk about how you found a tool that puts your article marketing on autopilot.

You could go on to explain what the tool does and the results it’s produced for you. You could then end the blog post with a strong call to action and, of course, your affiliate link.

Review Sites:

Review sites aren’t exactly necessary because they require a lot of effort and time to produce. I would only ever advise you to set up a review site for BIG product launches you want to promote. As dedicated review sites can easily rank in the search engines for product keywords. And… when a launch takes place, thousands of people usually rush over to Google in search of reviews. They can then find your review site! Unless you know about SEO, that’s probably not an option.

Review sites just make your promotions look much more professional. Having an entire site dedicated to your promotion rocks. In the sidebars, you can have promotional banners and links pointing to the sales page. You can then publish blog posts on the site talking about the different features/modules/content the product you’re promoting has. Then just send your subscribers to the posts as you publish them.
