How To Get Over Writers Block And Start Blogging Again

I just wanted to share a quick couple of insights that I’ve had over the last month or so on how to get over writer’s block. Just a few weeks back, I was working 12-14 hours a day, writing articles, creating software programs, spinning articles, creating videos, talking with prospects, doing webinars, and also trying to mentor and train a downline.

As you can probably imagine, trying to do everything yourself, all the time will only work for so long before you get a little bit overwhelmed mentally.

I wanted to just give you a few quick tips to keep you focused on actually building a business (not just having a glorified online job):

  1. Understand what your priorities are. In online marketing, your number one priority is marketing. Creating content and information that will drive your business to the next level is crucial.
  2. Outsource anything that you can pay someone to complete who earns less money than you. If you’ve got the cash, don’t spend time doing secretarial work, spinning articles, designing your blog, and completing technical tasks. Even if someone else does the job only 70% as well, it frees your time to focus on more important things, like marketing, coaching, and strategy.
  3. Understand that the real players in business are those who spend time in the creative strategy phase, not menial tasks. Nothing is more powerful than learning to work with and empower others. The more people you train and empower, the more powerful you become.
  4. Just write. Make sure you write something every day, even if it’s only 400-500 words. It makes a huge difference in the long term for your business. Even if you don’t do keyword research, write. You need to constantly put out fresh information.

Last of all, don’t worry about it. Seriously. Not everything you write needs to be SEO optimized. You don’t have to do keyword research for everything. You don’t need to drive backlinks to every page on your site. Just write, create, be yourself, and stay consistent. You’ll get more value from that than almost anything else you could possibly do.

BLOG. CREATE. You can make a difference and will, if you just keep adding value. I’ll see you at the top.

In prosperity,
David Wood

David, thanks for these guidelines. I need to be reminded of these on a regular basis! It can all be so overwhelming at times, especially in the beginning when there is so much to set up. The 80/20 rule really helps in focusing on critical tasks. You are a true inspiration, David.

I can’t believe the results you’ve mentioned here. Do you have any evidence or real-life examples to back up these claims? I’d love to see some case studies or testimonials that show how effective your methods are in practice.

I have a quick question about the outsourcing part. What kind of tasks would you recommend outsourcing first? Should I start with admin tasks or is it better to outsource content creation right away?

Julio Martínez

David, I love your enthusiasm but I have to disagree on some points. Outsourcing doesn’t always work for smaller businesses, especially when budgets are tight. I’ve tried outsourcing before, and it didn’t bring the results I expected.

I recently came across a tool called Asana that has been really helpful for managing my outsourced projects. It keeps everything organized and makes communication easy. I’d recommend anyone who is thinking of outsourcing to check it out.
