Timeless Wealth Philosophies

My favorite speaker to listen to is Jim Rohn. The timeless wealth philosophies of Jim Rohn are easy to understand, and anyone can implement them. One of my friends introduced me to him about two years ago, and I’m forever grateful for that.

One of the key insights from Mr. Rohn is, “Profits are better than wages. Wages make you a living, but profits make you a fortune.” Just to add to that, it’s important to know that most people on the Forbes 400 list are individuals who either earned their wealth through a profit system or inherited it from someone who did. Essentially, very few people get rich through the wage system. A “JOB” often stands for Just Over Broke. While there may be exceptions, such as lottery winners or extremely talented individuals, they are rare cases.

There is hope for the rest of us though. Even if you don’t have the money to start your own franchise or create a company like Google, you can still start a network marketing business. Think about it: the risk is low, and if you keep at it and don’t quit, you can build a huge network and wealth simultaneously. As Jim Rohn said, “I’m working part-time on my fortune and full-time on my job, but soon I’ll be working full-time on my fortune.” That’s the mindset of a serious networker and entrepreneur.

The first thing you should accept is that you are in sales. Now, you don’t have to be a greedy salesperson, but the truth is that if you can’t persuade someone to do something, then you won’t make money in this business. It took me a while to realize that I was essentially a sales representative for the company, but once I did, I could focus my efforts where they were needed most.

Another key lesson is that you’re always teaching. If you’re talking to a stranger at the mall about your business, that person assumes they will have to do the same if they join. And if that’s the marketing method you were taught, then that’s what you will pass on to others. In network marketing, whatever you were taught will transmit to whoever you sign up.

Jim Rohn used to tell his warm market, “It doesn’t matter if you listen, I don’t care if you buy, and I don’t need you to sign up. I just need ten people to show up at the meeting to get three to join. If you’re one of the seven, great; if you’re one of the three, great. I just need ten to get three.” He understood the law of averages, and he used it to minimize the pressure on potential recruits.

Rohn also taught that “it’s not the money that builds your fortune, it’s the skills.” Likewise, “it’s not the money that makes you rich; it’s people that make you rich.” If you’re starting a home-based business, you should invest time and money in developing leadership skills. People won’t follow you unless you’re a strong leader. “Work harder on yourself than you do on your job,” and you’ll be far ahead of someone who knows everything about the product or company.

The most important thing is to take action. You can learn all the money-making philosophies you want, but you must put what you’ve learned into consistent action to achieve success.

This is such an inspiring post! I’ve been struggling with the concept of working for wages, but your explanation of profits making a fortune really resonated with me. Thank you for sharing!

I’m a bit skeptical. Is there any data or evidence that shows network marketing can lead to real, sustainable wealth? It seems like a tough path for the average person. Do you have any examples of people who succeeded?

Oliver

I’m new to network marketing and found your insights incredibly helpful. Can you elaborate on the best ways to approach potential recruits without coming across as too pushy?

Samantha

I have to say, I’m not convinced. It sounds a bit like a sales pitch for MLM, and I think some of the risks are understated. What do you think about the high dropout rate in network marketing?

Hey Eric, it’s been a while! I loved this post—it really took me back to when we first talked about entrepreneurship. Let’s catch up soon. Maybe over coffee?

I had a similar experience when I started my business. At first, I thought it was all about sales, but eventually, I learned that leadership and relationship-building are the keys to long-term success. This post really hit home for me.

I recently discovered a platform called SuccessNow that offers great training for leadership development, similar to what you discussed. You might want to check it out!

Thank you so much for this post! It helped me understand how to focus more on developing myself rather than just the product. I’m excited to apply these ideas to my network marketing efforts.
