What’s Your Niché? Keywords and Content

Discover your niche’, find the keywords, write good content and you will get noticed online. One way to get people to your website is by writing articles and blog posts. For the people who are new to online marketing, I’d like to explain how writing articles will help people find your website. I’ll also be covering where you can find content that will appeal to the people you want visiting your website, otherwise known as your “target market”.

First, let’s start with your niche’ market. Your niche’ market, or your target market, are the types of people you want to appeal to. Take snowboarding for instance; if you’re selling snowboards, your target market would be snowboarders, or to take it a step further, you might even target skateboarders too. The first question you want to ask when you’re writing an article, creating a video, or producing any kind of content is, “who do I want my content to appeal to?”

The next step in producing content is finding a keyword. Keywords are simply words or phrases people type into the search engines to find things they’re looking for. Finding a keyword that relates to your target market is important, but not critical, because there are other ways to generate traffic other than the search engines. However, in this article, we’ll be more focused on search engine traffic. Let’s use snowboarding as an example. Typing in the word snowboarding into Google will give the user a bazillion results. With the word snowboarding being such a general term, a better possibility might be the word “Burton”. Burton is a brand name and is a more specific keyword, but still in the same niche’. The people who are looking for that brand might be interested in what you have to offer because they are in your target market.

Keyword phrases are also a good way to get customers and prospects to your website. A keyword phrase is exactly what the name implies. A keyword phrase is any phrase that relates to your niche’ market. A keyword phrase that uses the snowboarding niche’ as an example might look something like this; “snowboard graphic designs”, or “Burton snowboard graphic designs”. You could also use a phrase that doesn’t even have the word snowboard in it like “top ten Burton graphics”. Keyword phrases are great because they are more specific and there is usually less competition for them.

Keyword competition is the next thing you should be aware of. Competition is a major factor in whether or not you will be able to generate traffic with a keyword. Whenever you target a keyword and use it in your content, there will be a certain amount of other people competing for the same word or phrase. The less competition there is for a keyword the easier it is to rank for the top spots in the search results. While it is advisable to focus on keywords that have low competition, you should be aware that low or no competition usually equals an unprofitable keyword. Doing keyword research will help narrow down the keywords that are easier to rank for but at the same time still expose your site to the right people.

Having a keyword will do you no good unless you have something to write about. Producing content is the next step in using keywords. You have to write content that pertains to the keyword you are focusing on. The best way to start finding content is to simply type your keyword into a search engine and read what other people have already written. You should not copy other people’s articles, but you can read their article and write about the same subject from your point of view. If you’re new to the industry you’re marketing in and you want to get more familiar with it, then I suggest that you take a look at the top 10 websites in that particular niche’ and read up on your target market. As a side note, if you read the content on the top sites in your industry and leave comments on them, the comments you leave can get you some extra traffic on the side.

There are a lot of different ways to use keywords and a lot of different ways to generate traffic. Finding your niche’ and writing content with keywords related to your market is only the beginning. The methods and strategies that can be used for blogging and article marketing can be overwhelming. This article is meant as a starting point for people who aren’t familiar with the basics. Learning the proper marketing strategies and having good tools to market with is very important, but taking action is the most important step.

I never really thought about how important it is to narrow down the audience you’re trying to target. I’m a bit skeptical about the idea that focusing on low competition keywords is the best approach. Is there any concrete evidence that proves this works? I’ve tried using specific keywords in the past and didn’t see much traffic. I’d love to know if there are any case studies or real-life examples that back this up. It sounds like a great strategy, but I’m hesitant to invest too much time without seeing some results first. Can you share any success stories or examples?

This is super helpful! I do have a question though – how do you go about finding the right balance between targeting specific niches and keeping the audience broad enough to attract more people? I’ve noticed some niches are too narrow, and I’m worried about losing potential visitors by being too specific. Also, what tools do you recommend for doing keyword research? Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

While I found this article insightful, I think it could benefit from more concrete examples of successful niche marketing campaigns. The theory is sound, but real-world examples would make it more actionable for readers. Additionally, I noticed the focus is a bit too much on search engines. What about social media as a tool for niche marketing? It would be great to include tips on using platforms like Instagram or Facebook to target niche audiences. Just a thought!

This article really resonated with me! I had a similar experience when I first started blogging. I was all over the place with my content and wasn’t attracting the right audience. After I started focusing on a specific niche and using targeted keywords, I noticed a huge difference in the quality of traffic to my site. It’s amazing how much of a difference it makes to be more intentional about who you’re writing for. Keep up the great work – this advice is spot on!

I’ve been using a tool called Ubersuggest to help me with my keyword research, and it’s been super helpful in finding those low competition keywords. It’s great for brainstorming ideas and seeing what’s trending in my niche. I’d recommend it to anyone looking to refine their keyword strategy. It’s also nice to have tools like SEMrush and Moz, which offer more detailed analytics. They’ve all been game changers for me in my content marketing journey!
