Do you Kindle?

To Kindle or not to Kindle – that’s the question.
If you are going to be a leader in any kind of business, real estate business, sales, multilevel marketing (MLM) or home-based business – if you want to position yourself as a leader, you have got to read. Readers are leaders.
I am a big advocate of personal development; and if you know me for very long, you know that I start a lot of my sentences with “Have you ever read the book <<fill in the blank>>?” and the reason for that is that I believe, as a lot of people do in the business world that personal development is your TOP priority and responsibility when you assume the position of a leader.
I have been a big advocate of picking up books wherever I can. When someone says “Have you ever read the book?” and I haven’t read it, I typically would go right out and buy it and read it right away.
If you go through my home, I have got books and magazines of the success and personal development type in every single room including all of the bathrooms. I am that much of an addict.

Recently, I received, as a gift, a new Kindle. This is an amazing device and I highly recommend anybody to get one. (Click here to view models and options)
First of all, I am not a fast reader. I read quite a bit but it takes me a while sometimes to really take in a book and it takes me a lot more than it should.
For that reason, I really enjoy the audio feature on this Kindle. You push a couple of buttons and the book will actually read itself to you and that’s great because you can plug in an earphone and listen to the book and not just listen to it, but follow along as it reads. It forces you to concentrate and visualizing the wordsas you hear them improves retention. I can actually get through a book a lot faster, focus my energy on the book and if I am seeing it and hearing it at the same time, I amretaining it a lot better – I enjoy that feature a lot.
There is also a ‘notes’ feature. When you are reading a regular book, typically people highlight a page or highlight passages. Later when you want to refer to that passage it is difficult – you go back to it and say “Where was that? When did I read that one? What book was that in?”
With this device, you can actually highlight segments and you can share with your social media pages and with your social media friends. All of your notes are compiled and it makes reference where it was in the book, what page and everything relevant to the resource. So, bibliography is a lot easier when compiling a speech or a book of your own.
A lot of times I highlight and sometime I wonder if that’s impactful for somebody else. So, it will actually notate how many other people who have read this book on Kindle have actually notated that particular passage.
It’s also able to surf limited web pages. I have not been able to access my Facebook account but can access email easily via the wireless connection.
You can also load MP3s on a Kindle. If you have books on tape or music or whatever you want, you can put it on this and there is aheadphone jack and here it is so you can listen to your audio books or music while you are driving and you can listen to them doing whatever you want.
Kindles have huge storage. They claim that you can put 3000 books on it which is far in excess of what I actually own at this point but some day I will and I enjoy the idea that I can search the books for the notes of what I have already read. Great feature.
You can read newspapers, blogs, and magazines as well. You can have them delivered wirelessly. A lot of them are free, some are subscription based. So, if you have a particular newspaper like Wall Street Journal that you like to read, you can access certain columns – I think it’s $1 a month and it’s not a big deal.
It’s just a great device because of all these features. If you are into personal development for your business, you really owe to yourself to buy one of these and add it.
The cost for the basic model is about $120. That sounds like a lot for a device to read but the books themselves on Kindle are a lot cheaper. So, you actually end up with a savings for all these benefits and features that you have and you can put your entire library in one little book.
You will save money on books, you will be able to learn faster, you will be able to access information and download books in less than 60 seconds and you will definitely enjoy this if you are a personal development junkie like me.

I would encourage you to go and buy a Kindle. I highly recommend it. You will not regret.

Here is the last thing I want to tell you – you can actually take your literature that you produce and upload it to Amazon and other people can download to their Kindle and you can sell your information on Kindle but you need to actually own one for you to understand what the process is. I will write about this process in a later post.

Absolutely phenomenal content David! When I think back to when I have been the most successful, happy, energetic, loving, spiritual, and well rounded in all aspects of life; was when I had a well established routine like you described in your video. Thanks again for reminding me about this as lately I have fallen away from the routine. I’m glad for the friendly reminder and to be a part of your team!

Hey David, awesome video. It’s clear we all have the same 24/7 but others get so much more out of that time. Having mind, body and spirit operating as one with laser focus is key to massive gains, and personal happiness.

So with you Dave! If I don’t meditate for 20 min at night & when I arise, and exercise after morning meditation, I’m mentally and physically weak all day. I so crucial for me; I’m like you and I’ll absolutely be in space camp if I don’t do both : ) Of course when I do, I’m powerful, focused, and don’t really process or search for answers to challenges. I also find I’m a much better listener and question asker given I’ve done my routine. Lots of people deserve to get this so thanks for putting it out there. Cheers, David

Great advice, am so happy to be in.

Hey Dave! That video was very true in many respects. My husband and I got gym memberships about a month ago and being able to exercise hard core everyday has been awesome and has done a lot for my everyday life and attitude. I also love the point you made about planning out your day. We have a whiteboard next to our computer and right before we go to bed we make our list. We also have a list that we do consistently every single day besides our tasks and I call it our meat and potatoes list. 😉 Thanks for the message! ~Erin Smith

Thanks for sharing, David! I’m curious about your strategy for attracting free traffic. Any specific tips you could share?
Marcos Pereira, July 17 2024, 12:00
I’ve tried a few of these methods, but I’m still struggling to see significant results. What would you suggest for someone just starting out?
