The 4 Free Accounts Every Online Business Needs

Starting an online business can be very confusing. Everywhere you look, someone is trying to sell you the “quick” way to get rich online. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it takes consistent effort to make money online. While you can create massive leverage by using the web, the truth is that it takes time and constant action to build an online business. There may be some people who disagree with me, but from my experience, you have to treat your online business like a fitness program. Building muscle takes time, and so does building an online presence. One good thing about starting an online business is that you don’t need to buy anything to get started.
Believe it or not, a lot of the main accounts you need to start an online business are actually free. Don’t get me wrong, if you’re serious about making money with the internet you will eventually need to spend money, but for now, let’s talk about the free accounts you’ll need. Before you sign up for any accounts, free or not, you should have your own personal brand. Starting out with your own brand will help tie your accounts together with a common theme and make you and your business more recognizable on the internet.
The first account you will need is a Google account. Signing up for a Google Gmail account is one of the most important accounts you’ll open up. Google is tied into many things on the internet, and they offer several free tools you can use. The free tools that Google offers are great and will help you advertise and grow your business. Getting signed up with Google will make signing up for other places easier. For example, Google owns YouTube, so when you open an account on YouTube, you can do it almost automatically through your Gmail account.
Next, you should sign up for Facebook. Facebook is another major account, and you can sign into other accounts using Facebook. If you plan to use social media to market your business, Facebook is a must. Facebook offers a wide range of marketing options, such as starting a group, a fan page, or a pay-per-click campaign.
YouTube is another essential account. Even if you don’t plan on uploading many videos, YouTube opens another door for people to find you and your business. All serious online marketers have YouTube accounts because YouTube videos show up in Google search results.
Twitter is also important. Twitter’s simplicity allows you to connect with others, and many people tie their Twitter accounts to other platforms. For instance, I have my Twitter account linked to my blog so every new article I post sends out a tweet with a link.
While these free accounts are essential to starting your online business, signing up for them is just the beginning. Proper training is critical to integrate and use these accounts effectively.

Are you sure signing up for just these accounts will make a difference? I’ve tried before and didn’t see any results. Do you have any proof or case studies that show this actually works? I’d love to see some real examples.

I’m wondering if there are any other social media platforms you would recommend. Instagram seems popular nowadays—would you suggest starting there as well? Or are these accounts enough to build an online presence? Thanks for the insights!

I found your advice on using Twitter really helpful, but I think relying too much on free accounts might limit the growth of a serious business. Would you consider writing a post on paid tools that can really help boost online visibility?
