I had something happen the other day that just re-enforced this principle for me. Take this one seriously guys, and be sure to share and comment!

Remember guys – let’s build this with a LONG-TERM perspective…  You want your list to love you, AND still read your emails :)

Hello David, Great video on protecting your list. Dilution is a big problem with a lot of list. I just get information overload and waste to much time on emails. Thanks for the insight, Andrew Gallop

Hi, David! What a great short message. I see that many networkers try to do multi-tasking to promote various things all over the place but lose focus because of that. I sometimes see myself doing it. Thank you for the reminder.

Another dead on point Dave, I rarely hear people talk about that issue but it happened to Me and it can be avoided great point.

One good thing that comes out of it though, You can see whats working for other top marketers. So I guess You just have to be careful.

Peace out Dave,

I would – it’s pointless to promote crap that you would never use in your life. Like listbuilders – that is probably the single worst way to generate leads that exists on the internet, and people waste a ton of money and time on them.

D,
You are absolutely right my friend. Just the other day I unsubscribed from a BUNCH of other marketer’s lists for the simple fact that they had become more of a DISTRACTION than a benefit to me and my business.

I also created a new email address with gmail and am using the proper filters to properly sort through the email so that I am that much more productive.

Keep leading the way kimosabe,

Good points Dave, you can spend all your time reading worthless emails, trying to sell you something. By the time you do all that, the day is over and you’ve accomplished nothing.

This is sound advice, however, in most cased the horse has already bolted. The internet has become a screaming ground for mad marketers, each trying to outscream the others. My solution has always been to use a junk email address initially, and if it proves valuable move it to a decent address. That way I don’t have to waste time unsubscribing, all the junk goes straight in the bin. Cheers, Mark

Hi Dave,

This is a very timely message as I was just thinking about this very issue a couple of days ago (hmmm, I must be learning something)! Unfortunately, I don’t think there is a solution because even if you develop your own products and promote these products exclusively, the umpteen million other marketers out there are sure to get a hold of your list sooner or later. The reality is that “Your List” is not really “Your List”at all.So I guess it just boils down to being sure that your message is more clear, concise and value oriented than the other guys out there.

Great Point Dave,

I am still clearing out my emails from all the sales “guru’s” emails I get daily. Beware of the product launch bonus offerings because this helps to open the door to flood your email box and that of your downline. It caused me to get additional email addresses just to try and stay clear of all that disrupt my focus. How many email addresses do you have?

Thanks much

Great message David, This is a major reason why most top offline leaders try to keep their teams away from the internet. I have seen it and wonder if others have not noticed this. This really stagnates your people because confused people don’t do nothing. Another problem is edifying people that are not true leaders LOL

Buddy,

Funny we just talked about this a couple days ago. As we talked about it… I was starting to unsubscribe from all of the lists that have no bearing on the two golden rules of network marketing. Selling your primary companies products and sponsoring people to do the same. MY productivity has increased immensely and the “confusion” is gone. I AM CLEAR… lots happening quickly this way. Keep telling it how it is. This Proves you are committed to building a long term residual income business and are willing to do the same with everyone you bring into the fold. Rather than just selling some quick “product launches” and distracting your people from what you originally taught them in the first place….
Once again my friend you are setting the standard higher in this industry and making it a better place. Just as we always talked about we were going to do.

I forget what big time Internet Marketer came up with it, but I remember in the IM niche a couple years ago when all the big time gurus realized that they were diluting their lists with all the JVs they were conducting throughout the past two years.

With JV’s, Giveaway events, affiliate programs, etc, things got crazy. They say a big dip in the industry. up until the last eighteen months I realized that most Online Network Marketers didn’t have this problem. The reason was because there were just not that many affiliate programs. Online Network Marketing has always been a year or so behind mainstream info-marketing oriented IMers, so it is no surprise that you and others are witnessing how this same trend is starting to effect the Home Business Industry.

The Solution? I think it was either Mike Filsaime or Rich Schefren that introduced the idea of “Strategic Alliances”.

So instead of going out and promoting every cool product that you know will put money in the bank, the big gurus started to create small circles of allies that they would promote. Every body else is considered an outsider who they would not promote for.

I foresee that Top Producers and Network Marketers will adopt this kind of approach. I know I will.

Good insight. I have come to a point where I am getting emails from so many people (what’s worse is I don’t even remember what I did to get on their list) pushing something that I have begun to unsubscribe – especially for lists that are all about pushing clickbank crap – i.e. no value. You have seen them – Subject title – ” Activate your free Account” – and then it’s a link to a splash page. That’s it. No value.

You provide value. Thank You. – B
