What amazed me the first time I saw that was that it's Charlie Chaplin talking about life over 60 years ago...and it applies even more so today.

Dave, I am totally aligned with your inspiration and who you are as I have come to know you in Empower Network. I have also come to know President Obama in a more in depth way from reading his books, meeting him and conversing with him. I know as much as I know anyone that he is not a brute.

WOW! Dave that is how I have felt for years but never knew how to put into words or see it so clear until now. But people don't do what you say they do what you do, What you are doing is truly amazing. if only the news stations would give information like this everyday on TV what a better world we all be living and thinking for generations to come. Thanks for showing me that today I'm responsible for the way I feel in this moment and every day. It doesn't only make sense it makes you dollars which you are amazing at which = great leader!

POWERFUL, VERY POWERFUL! This speech is exactly what we need in this world today!

Yikes. At risk of being eaten alive here... While powerful, the speech seems a precursor to socialism and anti-capitalism. i.e the last line "Soldiers, in the name of democracy, let us all unite!" sounds very similar to the radical slogan of our aggressive socialist unioins "workers of the world unite." There are disdainful remarks throughout criticizing greed, while nearly all of the advances he speaks of were brought about by people wanting much more than they had. The majority of all radical improvements brought to society was spread throughout society by the desire for more profit. For those unaware Chaplin held an extremely critical view of capitalism, was a suspected communist, and at one point was barred and denied re-entry back into the united states for suspected "unAmerican activities." Whatever your political leanings he was also considered to be a good friend to those on the left even then. Personally, I would rather listen to speeches given by the famous David wood :)

This speech is in a great movie called The Great Dictator. I had forgotten about this movie and this awesome speech. It is amazing to see how history repeats itself unless people wake up and take back control of their lives.

Hey Dave, thanks for sharing this video! Very inspirational mix and very relevant. By the way, the Charlie Chaplain movie that this was taken from was called "The Great Dictator" and was filmed in 1940. Charlie Chaplain died in 1977 at age 88. Not that I already knew this stuff, I'm a curious cat so I looked it up!
