The Authority Site SEO Blueprint – Part Three
This is part three of “The Authority SEO SEO Blueprint”, click here for part two.
3. Guest Blogging
Guest blogging I put right next to forum posting in its rank of importance. If you don’t know what guest posting is by now, you’re either really new to this or a terrible SEO/online marketer. Guest blogging is publishing blog posts/articles as a guest author on other blogs in your niche. The majority of large blogs are open to guest bloggers and many accept them all the time.
In fact, a lot of big blogs rely on guest bloggers for all of their content. Read this post on guest blogging: http://workwithdavidwood.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-excellent-guest-blogging/
That’s pretty much it for natural traffic building. There are various other things you can do, to name two:
- Blog Commenting – Commenting on various blogs in your niche to drive traffic, get your name out there and build an audience.
- Media – Whenever something big happens in your industry, write an article about it and send it to all the news bloggers/journalists in the industry. Ask them to link to it/cover the story and list you as a resource.
- Faking Popularity – This works very well, and requires only $15 or so per article. The more Facebook likes, shares, Tweets, Re-tweets, bookmarks and Google Plus Ones your content gets; the more popular it seems. The more popular it seems, the more likely normal visitors are going to share it. Also if another blogger/journalist sees your article buzzing with popularity; they might cover it or link to it. Use fiverr to overload your content with FB likes, Tweets, Re-Tweets, Google +1′s, Bookmarks and comments. It works and gives you a nice SEO boost.
All of these steps show Google that you don’t even need them to get traffic. That your site is so popular it doesn’t need SEO or search engine rankings. It gets traffic, buzz and authority links naturally. This demonstrates your authoritative status and forces Google to rank you for competitive terms.
This coupled with your Google Plus profile setup means you’re 80% there.
Step Five: Building LINKS!
Step five is building links. My step five is most people’s step one or two. My link building strategy has changed a lot over the years, but the principles I use have remained the same. I don’t spam and if/when I spin content; I spin it extremely well to the point where it only generates completely unique and readable variations.
I’m not going to get into too much detail here, as I wrote a long post “Futuristic Link Building Strategies” to explain how and what I do when it comes to links. You can read it here: http://workwithdavidwood.com/futuristic-link-building-strategies/
Essentially I build a small group of SUPER strong backlinks and an array of low to medium quality links to diversify my profile. The super strong links are from my own network. I source high Page Rank domains via forums and other sites, purchase them & set them up on their own IP addresses.
This means I can build a network of high Page Rank authoritative websites that I can use to link to my own sites. Once the sites are built, I write relevant articles linking to my ‘money site’ and publish them on the home pages. This creates insanely powerful links that sky-rocket my rankings.
For $200+ you can get a Page Rank 5 domain, so if you’re on a budget you can build a couple of them per week or month. If you build 2 per month, you’ll have a network of 24 high PR sites you can use for link building in one year. Google penguin destroyed all the public blog networks and pushed the whole SEO community away from them.
The reality is they are still the most effective way of getting top Google rankings, period. While using public networks is a lot cheaper than building your own; the risks outweigh the benefits.
On top of the network; you can build a diverse link profile full of bookmarks, web2.0′s, article directory links, wikis and blogs. Read this post to learn more about the exact linking strategy.
Once you do everything outlined in this blueprint, it would be bad for Google not to rank your website. If you are actively participating in forums and blogs in your niche as well as talking about your niche on social networks; Google will know it thanks to the Google Authorship strategy.
That strategy alone coupled with a high quality authoritative website means you’re ahead of 90% of other SEO’s. Throw natural traffic building into the mix and you’re ahead of 99% of SEO’s. Then throw the futuristic link building in and it’s game over; you will win. There won’t be anything you won’t be able to rank for in your niche.
