You know, the interesting thing is about MonaVie is that I’ve known more leaders who have jumped ship into this opportunity than almost any other company.  Even today, five years after its launch, I just had about five of my well known friends get involved in this opportunity and they’ve produced some pretty impressive results quickly.  Before I get too far in to this discussion, watch the quick YouTube review I did of MonaVie:

By far the most impressive thing to me about MonaVie is the sheer numbers of people they have who are earning in excess of $1,000,000 per year.  Most of the time in Network Marketing, a company will have 2, maybe 10 people tops who earn six figures a month.  In MonaVie, however, at the time of this publication there are more than thirty four distributors who have a published annual income of $1.5 million dollars per year or more.

That’s A LOT of people earning a LOT of money in one company.  Quite frankly, although it’s not entirely unheard of, it is a fairly unique edge that MonaVie has on the market place.  Although there are a lot of strengths to this company, I wanted to give you a quick history of why they grew so fast initially and why they are where they are today.  Also, I’m going to give you some tips if you are a MonaVie distributor that will help you prosper along the way.

MonaVie had one of the quickest launches in the history of MLM, mostly because of a distributor named Brig Hart.  Now, you may not be familiar with Brig, but if you’re in MonaVie, you know him as the top income earner in the whole company.  I don’t want to spend too much time on details, but basically Brig got involved with MonaVie and brought his entire Amway organization with him (at the time Quixtar), a team that was HUGE and had several hundred thousand people.  So in their first year as a result of Brig Hart’s organization alone, Monavie became larger than many MLM companies that have been around for 10 years or more.

There has been a lot of fighting back and forth between MonaVie and Amway over this, but in the end, I don’t blame Brig and his team for leaving, and I would have done the same thing under similar circumstances.  Brig’s top distributors make way more money in MonaVie, and they are all happy they left.  Plus, I don’t think companies should complain if their distributors want to leave.  They need to improve their system, their products, and their marketing plan if people aren’t satisfied, which is what I believe was the real problem here.

However, what should interest us as students of the industry is not why MonaVie grew quickly initially, but why they have been able to sustain that growth over five years, and make it to the top 1% of the producing companies in the MLM profession.

Quite frankly, MonaVie has great growth because they have an effective training system, a powerful compensation plan, a great product, and visionary leadership.  They ship their products quickly, pay their commissions on time, resolve complaints immediately, and are there when you pick up the phone.  MonaVie has positive aspects to two different parts of their leadership.  The first one is they have a solid, debt free, financially stable corporation that runs efficiently and constantly works to improve.  Second, they have an incredible base of strong leadership in the field that knows how and when to market the opportunity in a number of different ways.

So you may be asking why I’m not involved in MonaVie, and that’s irrelevant.  I like the company and it’s a good opportunity, regardless of my business preference.  What I’d like to turn the conversation towards, however, is principles behind building a successful MonaVie business, and what you really need to do to prosper if you’re involved with this opportunity.

Remember, although MonaVie has 34 people earning more than a million dollars a year, it also has more than 60,000 people earning an average of $39 per week or less.  Obviously, there is a big difference in the marketing systems of the people between those two income levels.

If you really want to prosper in MonaVie, you’re going to need to learn how to market YOURSELF before your business.  The reason Brig Hart and others can earn several million dollars a year in the MonaVie opportunity isn’t only because the company is great and they have a killer comp plan.  The main reason for the success of the leaders like this is because they learned how to POSITION themselves as experts.  You see, when Brig Hart joined MonaVie, he was already earning more than a million dollars a year in Amway.

Do you think that if you were earning a million dollars a year, that you could call people and have a DRAMATICALLY different result than you’re getting now?  You bet you can.  The skill you need to learn to be successful in MonaVie, or in any other company, for that matter is HOW TO BRAND YOURSELF and set yourself above the crowded home business noise that exists both on and off the internet.
