Wow. I just realized today that it’s been one full year since I joined The Numis Network.
If you guys weren’t on my list at the time, on Tuesday, March 17th at about 3:30pm Central Time, I joined a company called ‘The Numis Network’ under less than pleasant conditions.
Previously, I was the #1 recruiter in a company called ‘iLearningGlobal’, which specialized in personal development products. They were the company I originally started all of this online marketing to build, and after personally enrolling 250 people in six months (my first six months) of building it.
On March 17th, I was in the middle of my best growth month ever in ILG (now still running, with much less customers as DailySuccessStream.com, last I checked), and Glen Anderson called to tell me that the company had decided to discontinue their Network Marketing model, and pursue affiliate marketing and other sales methods (that essentially means – thanks for all of the customers, good bye to your pay). So I was left with a big team of people that all believed in what we were doing, and I had a couple of choices…
…do I think about what I want to do for a long time and allow my team to disperse into a hundred companies – or do I take instant action and save as much of the team as I can?
I had learned from past experience – the best way to solve a disaster is to do a promotion.
(Big promotions take so much attention and energy that no one has time for the problems). And thus was manifest my dilemma. This is the beginning of my time with Numis.
My story with Numis was actually a bit different than what you might normally hear – when I first saw the company, I hated it. I thought it was the stupidest thing I had ever seen – I just didn’t understand the need or value of selling Gold and Silver coins through Network Marketing, and I made some assumptions about it that weren’t true, at all.
Plus, I had about 40 people in my iLearningGlobal team quit and join it (before I was in), and I sort of had a feud going on with Cedrick Harris. For some reason we just used to irritate each other, and we had kind of developed this nonsense sibling type rivalry that had gone on for months. (really – it was just dumb and we’ve both been over it for a while). So in addition to just not ‘getting it’, Cedrick was in it – which was enough for me to be annoyed at it even more.
Lol. Kind of funny thinking back. What had happened is, we had come to a point where we realized that a ‘marketing war’ really doesn’t help the success of either side, and literally 2 days before ILG went down, we had gotten on a conference call and resolved our differences, which removed the emotional barriers I had to looking at The Numis Network for what it really is.
For a Numis Network review I wrote, you can click here.
It’s funny how the Universe works – had we not come together again and agreed to work together rather than against each other, I would have never been open to joining Numis, and wouldn’t have gone on some of the most amazing vacations I’ve been on in my life, and met some of the best people I’ve ever known in business – when we let our ego get in the way of our bank account, both suffer…
…so after we had this little chat (2 days before ILG collapsed) I had gotten on the phone with Cedrick, and when the pride was gone, I knew Numis was a great company – it had everything it needed – a stand alone product (now with a 5 year money back guarantee), experienced leadership, excellent funding – it had been profitable since month 2, had a killer comp plan – and more importantly, it was already operating with a team of people that I had been working with online for six months – and the company pretty much lets us market how we want, as long as we’re not breaking the law.
So when Glen Anderson called and told me the company was closing on Network Marketing, I instantly knew what to do – there was no thought, second guessing, or prolonged process involved – I hung up the phone, called Cedrick – couldn’t get ahold of him (he was doing a 3 way call), and so I saw that Brian Fanale was on Skype – knew that he had a position in Numis, and asked him for his link.
One and a half minutes later, I was a new Executive in the Numis Network, and was on a 3 way call with Cedrick Harris, asking him to help me with a launch Webinar in about 25 minutes from then, and that day I personally enrolled 41 Executives, starting with my 4pm EST webinar launch (35 minutes after iLearningGlobal closed), and continuing every 2 hours until 3 A.M.
Lol.
I know that some people criticized that as a rash decision, but it was with good cause, and has ended up being one of the best things I’ve ever done – I always trust my gut instinct – it led me to marry my best friend, Ashley Needles, let me to live in the most gorgeous country on earth, and it led me to Numis. Here is some people I wanted to thank for what I’ve experienced over the last year:
First and foremost – I wanted to thank my best friend in the whole world, my lover, and my wife – Ashley Needles. We got married December 12th, 2007 and NOT ONE TIME EVER has she not believed in what I could accomplish. She was there with me when I was working in a job I hated, and she lived with me in a Van in Oahu, completely broke. She’s always supported me, has helped me think up innovative ideas, has put my needs above her own on multiple occasions to help me to accomplish great things in life, and more important, connects with me in a way that no one else can. Ashley, I love you babe, miss you tons (get back to Costa Rica already), and thank you so much for all that you’ve done for us ‘behind the scenes’ for this whole time. Without you, I couldn’t have done any of the great stuff that I’ve been able to do, and to be honest, without you – none of it is worth it. Thanks for believing in me even when it didn’t make any sense, when I was struggling, when I wanted to quit, and when I wanted to kill Cedrick 3 or 4 times.
The next person I wanted to thank is Cedrick Harris – you know, I’ve wanted to kill Cedrick (not literally, but close…) probably five times. Lol. Kind of funny. But the reality is, Cedrick helped me launch my Numis business, and my first day in business, I didn’t understand the compensation plan, didn’t know how to do a presentation, didn’t really know what I was doing, was a little angry that my company had just closed – and Cedrick hung out till 3 am or something helping me do presentations every 2 hours until we both collapsed from exhaustion. Without that initial burst of energy, I wouldn’t have been able to get anywhere near the momentum that I did in my first few days in business. Although we’ve gotten ticked at each other several times – it’s all good, thanks for what you’ve done man, and one thing I can always count on you to do is absolutely rock the house
Ray Higdon is an absolute rock, and has turned into a great friend and supporter in helping me build my business. Ray has done webinars with me, been there to support when no one else was, led by a great example, and he just LOOKS like the best salesman ever. Lol.
All kidding aside, there have been times when I needed someone not to look up to, but to look to as a peer, as a running partner in business and in life – and one person I can always count on to be consistent is Ray Higdon. He’s done a lot of great things not just for my team, but for all of the Numis Network – he’s travelled to do events for my team, stayed consistent like an absolute animal, and is otherwise just a rock in life. Thanks Ray!
Brian, Norbert and Todd created the system known as MLSP, and have helped me to learn the basics of internet marketing, give a support infrastructure for a large part of my online marketing, and – they are my sponsors in Numis! (keep that a secret, because they actually don’t really do much with it, they’re more behind the scenes, but still help out with the team). These guys have helped me an invaluable amount over the last year, helped me get exposure to a large community of people I otherwise wouldn’t be able to access – and have paid me a lot of money for really, doing nothing. Lol. I love these guys, and they’re great friends – they helped me win a BMW (I took cash instead) they are paying for a luxury trip to Bora Bora with my wife in May, and are otherwise just cool guys. Thanks MLSP!
The last folks I wanted to mention (I could go on for hours thanking individual members of my team) is the owners of Numis – Chris Kent, Ian Cordell and Jake Kavorkian. Although the entire corporate team works tirelessly to print checks on time, ship products in a timely manner, make sure we all have the tools we need, and otherwise ensure that Numis is a seamless engine, these guys are just something special.
Chris Kent will do 3 way calls with me until 2 am (not kidding), Jake Kavorkian has more personal connections than anyone I have ever met in Network Marketing, and Ian is the ‘engine’ that drives the organization of the company. Thanks for all that you do – and a special thanks for Jake and Chris for travelling with me to Arizona, California, and Texas when I first launched my business, even though I had NO CLUE what I was doing. Lol.
I made this special video to celebrate my one year anniversary in The Numis Network – enjoy my friends!
Thank you everyone for supporting my dreams and goals! I’m looking forward to making the rest of 2011 the best year ever, and being a part of all of your lives for a long, long time!
To the top,
David Wood

A truly inspirational post. I have been looking at Numis for awile, mainly because of all you heavy hitters involved! I have the same issue's at first look as you did. But you have become such a huge influence in my resent life goals, I can't help but really think seriously about it. I had the rockstar life 9 years ago, living in my houses in Belize, L.A and Vancouver then lost it all, I will get it all back, and following your trips and lifestyle really perks me up.
