Network Marketing Lead Generation And The Story Of Bob
As leads are the life and soul of every network marketing business and you need a real good online mlm lead generation system.
Without them, your business is dead in the ocean. It simply won’t work because you’ll have absolutely no one to talk to.
I want to give you a fool proof way of generating a consistent flow of mlm leads for your business.
First, let me tell you the story of Bob, a typical Network Marketer. (hopefully you’ll be able to realize just how important lead generation is)…
Bob joins a Network Marketing company and he’s psyched to be starting a “home business“. Next he gets out his phone book, calls up everyone he’s known since 8th grade and tells them he’s got a fantastic business opportunity. This is actually totally fine by the way. I am not against cold calling or prospecting friends and family whatsoever. I just think there’s a better way of approaching people.
After Bob’s burnt through his warm market, he’s maybe enrolled 4 people into his company. This is where he’s damn excited and thinks he’s going to be rich. (That’s what I thought when I first enrolled a couple of people) Now Bob sits on his arse for the next 2 weeks waiting for his “team” to start duplicating. Guess what? Nothing happens! At best, 1 of the 4 people enrolls 1 person who also does nothing.
At this point Bob is a little pessimistic and he’s wondering what the heck is going on. Bob figured he would have like 64 people in his downline by now (4x4x4). After another week of his team doing nothing, he tries to encourage them to get started. Now Bob is a guy who’s really enthusiastic about his new business, most people won’t even get out their phone books. After talking to his downline, 2 of them get the balls to pitch their warm market which brings in 5 new team members.
Again, Bob is siked and he thinks his business is back on track. To cut a long story short, nobody else joins Bob’s team and 7 of them drop out within the next 2 months. So he’s left with 3 people who say they want to build the business, but have no intention of picking up the phone. At this point in the story Bob realizes he doesn’t know anyone else… and his new uber cool Network Marketing business is heading south. Bob is stuck and decides that Network Marketing isn’t for him. So Bob leaves the company heartbroken, back to his average 9-5 lifestyle.
Learn something?… I hope so.
That short story was just to emphasize how important lead generation truly is. It was also really fun to write. And Bob… he’s just a typical MLM dummy like 90% of your organization. In the beginning, all Networkers have the exact same mindset and you know where they all go wrong? When they run out of damn leads! Yeah, you might be having an “aha” moment right now. As back when Bob was siked and pitching his warm market, he could have excelled if he had more people to talk to. So how do you generate the leads?
Well you can do it online and or offline. Something that’s really dumb is starting online. So many Networkers join companies and jump straight into the complicated stuff. You know… lead generation, blogging, websites, landing pages, social media and all that sales funnel rubbish. The truth is that this is where everyone gets frustrated and quits…. Right now people are acting as if old school Network Marketing is dead. It’s not dead and unless you utilize it, your business will be! (the real truth is that people only say old school is dead so they can pitch you on some online marketing system)
Listen up, if you tell your new team members to start blogs, to setup landing pages and to screw around with social media, they’ll drop out before you can say duplication. You need your team to start offline. You need to teach them the fundamentals of business, prospecting and making people buy stuff. Why? Simply because if they don’t make any money within the first 2 months, they probably never will. (They’ll drop out) So get them started with some basic training on “nicely pitching” their warm market. This will get the juices flowing and once they burn through their offline list, get em online.
Teach them the online stuff, traffic generation, websites and those cool sales funnels that fascinate me so much. It’s all great stuff, but it takes at least 3-6 months to start seeing any results with online marketing… And like I said, if they don’t sponsor anyone within 2 months they’ll leave. Just trust me on that one as I’ve sponsored hundreds upon hundreds of people in my lifetime. (Into an array of Network Marketing companies LOL)
