How To Grow Your Blog And Brand EVEN More
In my last post, I talked about growing your blog and brand beyond traditional SEO & generic social media.
I talked about how every blog hits a traffic plateau several times.
In fact, no matter what kind of site, blog or online property you run; the plateaus are indefinite.
In this post I’m going to explain a couple of the strategies that have allowed me to blast through any and every plateau that I’ve encountered.
So first I want to talk about the three most powerful conduits for driving a brand. After which I’ll cover growing your audience outside of the realm of blogging .
- First is the blog.
- Second, video.
- Third; audio.
Blogging or (written text), video and audio are the three most powerful means of connecting with and growing an audience. If you’re not making use of all three, breaking past a traffic plateau will be super easy!
The majority of brands, companies, small businesses and bloggers use written text. They create blogs, publish content, do the whole SEO & social media thing…and get traffic.
It works and it works well. It’s a proven model for building a successful blog. However, you’ll hit plateaus using SEO and social media alone. Before I continue, checkout these startling figures:
- 1.32 million = The total number of unique visitors to The Smart Passive Income Blog.
- 1.66 million = The total number of downloads of The SPI Podcast.
- 1.48 million = The total number of video views on the SPI YouTube Channel.
Those are the statistics that Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income Blog recently revealed. Shocking right? Pat’s blog is really one of the power houses in the online marketing world.
But what’s fascinating is that his Youtube channel has had more eyeballs than his entire blog. It wasn’t even too long ago that he started actively publishing Youtube videos. So first and foremost….
Publish Youtube Videos, Lots Of Youtube Videos!
It’s staggering how easily you can DOUBLE your audience by simply publishing a Youtube video every time you publish a blog post. It’s what I did, it’s what Pat Flynn did; and both of our audience’s soared.
It wasn’t until a year of publishing content on this blog that I began avidly publishing Youtube videos. Since the inception of my Youtube channel, I’ve attracted tens of thousands of new visitors and thousands upon thousands of loyal subscribers.
Podcasts Are Powerful…
Now this isn’t something I’ve personally done, yet…
But the fact remains; starting a podcast is one of the most powerful audience building strategies. Again, looking at Pat Flynn’s statistics; you can see his Podcast has more downloads than views on his blog AND OR Youtbue channel!
What’s a podcast? The definition goes something like this:
A multimedia digital file made available on the Internet for downloading to a portable media player, computer, etc.
Really… It’s similar to a blog or Youtube channel, but solely audio. It’s a regularly posted audio subscribers can listen to/download. Podcasts can be anything. It could be you talking about industry news, interviewing professionals in your field or maybe you talking about lunch.
Anything that your audience cares about and will subscribe to. Creating a podcast is even more simple than starting a blog; you can set one up on Itunes and be running within 24 hours.
Write A Book, dude!
Last of all, I’d like to talk about books. Again I am yet to publish a book, but I’m working on it!
Publishing a book is probably the ultimate way to grow your brand, your blog and most importantly your audience. Books are a whole OTHER channel and publishing platform. It takes you, your blog AND your brand off of the Internet.
It means you can grow your brand and obtain new readers from book stores across the globe. Publishing a blog is in no way easy and cannot be compared to starting a Youtube channel or putting out podcasts.
In the end, the more platforms and content channels you use; the more authority you build and the faster you grow your blog AND your brand.
But is there anything else? Any other medium of DRAMATICALLY growing your blog and your brand?
