We all know that videos are extremely powerful, there’s no doubt about it. Videos sell and they sell a hell of a lot better than boring text. Saying that, a good copywriter’s sales page can beat the pants off a good video. Really, you should incorporate video into all of your strategies. If you’re using blog posts then you could post a video in your post.
However; it’s also a fantastic idea to record a kick ass video promoting the product/service you desire and then host it on your own site. Use Optimize Press and publish your video on an individual page, if it works for Frank Kern then it’ll probably work for you. (Optimize Press is a sales funnel/sales page/capture page creation WordPress theme – Google it).
Or you can just post your video on any page of your website/blog. In your video you could just talk about the problem the product/service you’re promoting fixes, really emphasize it and then talk about how amazing it will be once your subscribers have fixed it. Then introduce the product/service, talk about it and end with a strong call to action. Remember pain is the biggest human motivator, even more so than pleasure – and I know that’s debatable. That’s why I use both pain and pleasure to sell stuff.
Tutorials are powerful things when it comes to learning and in this case, selling products. You know, those things that walk you through the process of doing something step by step. Unfortunately you can’t use tutorials to sell everything. Like services and info products, not so much. Tutorials work best when selling software, WordPress plugins and tools in general.
Why? Well because you can physically walk people through the process of using a tool. You can hardly go through a book or digital product in a tutorial. So let’s say you find a really cool piece of SEO software. Let’s use the article marketing software example. You could record a video of yourself going through the process of submitting an article through the software.
You just have to go through the process of using whatever you’re trying to sell, and then hopefully show some results at the end. Finish off your tutorials with a strong call to action telling your subscribers to go buy the tool. Tutorials work best with videos, but you can also write them in a blog post or even an email.
This is the best strategy of all; webinars sell things better than anything else. I have seen people get conversions as high as 50% on webinars. Literally… 50% of attendees buying the promoted product! That’s a little abnormal, but with a good list you can get around 20%+ of your webinar attendees to buy whatever you’re selling.
You can use webinars to sell just about anything; but again software works best. Using the tutorial strategy, you could walk your subscribers through the process of submitting an article through a piece of software and then show the results it produced. Doing that on a webinar will show your subscribers how you are getting results in REAL LIVE time using the tool so they’ll be forced to buy it.
Really, selling things online isn’t that difficult. Sure in the beginning it can be tough, but once you “figure it out” and start using these 6 promotional strategies, you’ll be able to sell anything whenever you want!
