How can we increase Page Rank?

LOL, as you should already know Google has a little thing called Page Rank… And Page Rank is something Google awards to every page on the Internet. Well every page that’s indexed in its search engine. Basically, Google awards every page with a rank out of 10.

Getting a PR10 is practically impossible, only Google itself and a couple of other sites in the world have Page Rank 10. Sites like Adobe, Apple and a couple of government websites. As for the rest of the Internet, most sites are PR0.

There are a couple of PR9′s, like Facebook, YouTube and some other social networks. Anyway, a good Page Rank is anywhere from 3-6. Anything above 6 is pretty insane and near impossible to achieve. Unless you’re planning on starting a multimillion or even billion dollar website.

What the heck does Page Rank do?

Well it essentially gives your domain authority and “ranking power”. The higher your Page Rank, the better you will rank in the search engines… in theory. The truth is that that’s not at all true. Page Rank is just 1 factor in Google’s algorithm, but it’s pretty substantial. That doesn’t mean once you’ve got Page Rank none of the other stuff will matter.

It just means you’ll find it a lot easier to rank for keywords without spending hours and hours building backlinks. Page Rank oozes credibility and trust, in Google’s eyes. So the more you have, the better. My blog here is only Page Rank 3, but it’s not something I focus on at all.

Like I get way more traffic than 99% of Page Rank 4′s and above so it doesn’t bother me. I also have a lot of authority and credibility within my own niche, so that’s explained. So… You can easily outrank high Page Rank websites. You just have to do more link building.

High Page Rank sites just have what I call “automatic ranking power”. They post an article and do some simple On-page SEO and bam… They’re on the first page of Google for their target keyword within hours. You’ll notice this happening with massive authority sites like Wikipedia, Ehow, Web2.0′s like Hubpages & Squidoo… and also article directories like EzineArticles and Articlebase.

In fact, some of those sites are so powerful that marketer’s just piggy back off of their authority. They create accounts, post content on them promoting their own stuff and they automatically rank for keywords that would usually take them weeks of link building if they used their own sites. This strategy is most famously used on article directories. But really… can be done with any old high Page Rank site. So here’s a short list of ways to increase Page Rank fast!

1. Post Lots Of Unique Content

I know this one’s no secret and you’re probably already doing it, but it’s so vital that I had to mention it. Google wants unique content bla bla bla… so just post regular content on your blog. If you don’t have a blog setup on your site, install one at once. Make sure you use a sub domain! That way, all the Page Rank you build up to the blog will also flow through to your website. Muahahaha….

2. High Page Rank Blog Commenting

Blog commenting is a form of link building. And link building is the ultimate way to boost Page Rank full stop. As every time a site with established Page Rank links to another site… it passes on some link juice meaning Page Rank. So obviously getting one way backlinks from high Page Rank blogs will pass on some link juice.

The key to this strategy is to comment on HIGH Page Rank blogs. It really is the best way to increase Page Rank. I would only comment on blog posts with Page Rank 2 or more, that’s the rule. Remember, if the page you’re commenting on has 0 Page Rank but the blog home has PR3, don’t comment! It has to be the page you’re getting the link from, not the home. Using a little tool called Scrapebox, you can enter a few keywords and gather thousands of High Page Rank blog posts in your niche.

If you’re really serious about building your Page Rank, I would spend 20 minutes a day commenting on blog posts with PR2+. If your niche is large enough, you should find plenty of posts around with PR4-5 and above.

3. Really Obvious Stuff

It’s absolutely key that your site is internally setup the right way. This means formatting your URL’s properly. The best structure is definitely “/%postname%/” from my experience. If you’re using WordPress you need to go into permalink settings and make the change. Next I’d advise you to make good use of meta tags for keyword optimization, if you’re using something like All In One SEO then you already have this covered. Lastly, you should use Google Webmaster tools to make sure you haven’t got any duplicate meta tags or broken pages.

4. Use Article Directories & Web2.0 Sites

Submitting content to Article Directories and Web2.0′s are 2 of the best ways to obtain high quality backlinks and boost Page Rank. All you have to do is write a 100% unique article of 500 or more words. Then create accounts on the top 10 high Page Rank article directories and submit your article in for review. Once your article is live on one directory, the others won’t always want it.

I’ve heard mixed opinions on this subject, but I’ve found submitting unique articles to the top 10 directories… results in 90% acceptance. If you spray your articles across the entire web to thousands of low quality directories, this won’t work. The key is to submit your articles to the high PR directories only. To improve your chances of getting your article accepted into all directories, spin it.

There’s a ton of free and paid softwares to help you do this. Spinning will allow you to create lots of unique variations of 1 article. Or just switch up the paragraphs a little if submitting to 10 directories only. Once an article goes live on the directories, spin it and submit it to the top Web2.0 sites. Sites like Hubpages, Squidoo, Wetpaint, Blogger & WordPress. I’d manually submit your article to the top 10-30. Ten if you don’t have much time as doing all that manual SEO takes the life out of you. Instead you can use software to automate the process.

5. Press Releases

Submitting unique press releases to PR sites is a great way to obtain high Page Rank backlinks. Press release backlinks are incredible for boosting Page Rank. Why? I have no idea but they seem to work better than anything else… besides really high PR blog commenting.

You simply write a few press releases each week and submit them to the top 5-20 press release sites. The cool thing about press releases… other news sites automatically pick them up and syndicate them all over the place.
